Ayurvedic Asthma Control is a Sure Way to Treat this Disease

In Ayurveda system the bronchial asthma is also called as Tomaka Shvasa. This is a very fatal respiratory disease, which is caused due to body reaction with any allergic item. Due to stressful lifestyle and environment pollution this disease is increasing nowadays.

Bronchial asthma generally, occurs due to stomach affliction and gastro intestinal tract. Therefore, during its initial stages the patient complains about constipation, indigestion or diarrhea. This kind of asthma attack may come unwarranted either due to certain food or certain allergic conditions or from any pet animal. 
Following are the symptoms found for this disease:

  1. Hearing problem
  2. Sense of tightness
  3. Around the chest some constriction. Wheezing noise while breathing
  4. Difficulty to inhale and exhale due to lungs blockage
Usually, bronchial asthma attack is seen during early morning. The patient gets up, as he finds difficulty in breathing, while lying down. The patient may try to open doors and windows to get fresh air. Attack may last for few hours or sometimes for days during the early stage, he may feel normal after the attack. As the problem becomes chronic, the patient looks very pale and malnourished.

Ayurvedic asthma control treatments are available with the help of well known Chyawanaprash & Agastya Rasayana.  Chyawanprash consists of mainly Amla, which is one of the richest Vitamin C source. The specialty of this amla is that its vitamin remains intact even after exposure to heat. For the patient, who is suffering from constipation, Agastya Rasayana is very useful, however, Chyawanprash is considered to be as better medicine.
You can take both these ayurvedic medicine thrice a day before taking your food. These medicines may react slowly, but they surely help in asthma control. For chronic patients the effect of these medicines is more visible.
With the above two Ayurvedic medicines, the patients must also take 1 teaspoon of Sitopaladi Churna, 3 or 4 times a day along with honey. Honey is needed to avoid the irritation that may cause in the throat, if taken raw churna. Some other medicines are also recommended for asthma control, e.g. Suvarna Pushpasuga Rasa, Swasha-Kasa-Chintamani rasa and Kanalwsava. The quantity and dosage will be prescribed by the doctor by looking at the severity of the disease.

You may take advice from any qualified Ayurvedic physician and take any of the following medicines too.

Medicine 1-
Shukti Bhasma- 125 mg, Vasa Churna- 2gm. Trikuti Churna- 1gm

These three medicines can also be taken along with honey 3 times a day every day.

Medicine 2-
Mustard oil and old Gur - 10 gm of each of these items can be taken every day.

Medicine 3 –
Nagara, Bharangi- You may take two gm each of these two items and make a paste along with water and then take 2 times a day with warm water.

The patients must control their diet too. They must avoid taking fried foods and other dairy items like butter, milk, curds etc. They should also avoid taking bananas and guavas. At night, very light food must be taken and sour food should be totally out from their diet list. If you are smoker, then you must reduce smoking and also lower down your liquor consumption.
